Magi is both a lawyer for artists and creatives, and a visual storyteller with a refreshing style that fuses editorial edge and effortless luxury. An experienced photographer, entrepreneurial business coach, and inspiring conversationalist with a passion for culture and community, she shares professional and personal insights for an approach to both business and life that is altogether uplifting and resourceful.
Aly is the Founder and Creative Director at Aly Ann Events, a destination wedding planning and design firm. Her editorial approach and thoughtful execution have drawn interest from around the world. While the Artist's Retreat will be her speaking debut, she delights in the opportunity to share her expertise as it relates to vendor relationships, intentional design and the importance of sustainability.
After working for InStyle Magazine and “America’s Next Top Model” photographer Nigel Barker, Sarah Kay Love spent five years as a photo editor at The Knot Magazine. She produced and curated visuals on a variety of media platforms from print to digital channels. Sarah now owns a creative agency, specializing in digital marketing strategies , social media management + website design that is devoted to helping companies build brands that differentiate themselves.

We’re Aly, Sarah, and Magi–the founders of The Artists’ Retreat. Together, we draw from our unique backgrounds for decades of collective expertise in brand strategy, industry publication, legal, wedding planning, and scaling photography companies.
We don’t want to brag too much, but our names have appeared on the pages of the most respected publications in media, not to mention the top of coveted shortlists by our trusted colleagues in the wedding industry. After years of hustle, our tunnel vision to success blinded us to how many of our friends in business were driving themselves into the ground. Burnout was shuttering businesses left and right in the wedding industry. For many, the stress was too much to bear after ignoring the warning signs for years.
For all the resources we had at our disposal as wedding and lifestyle professionals–workshops, courses, spreadsheets, systems, memberships, programs, mentors, and more–nothing seemed to address the growing epidemic of exhaustion, anxiety, and burnout in our industry. In a sea of styled shoots, flawless flatlays, and “Know your worth, then add tax,” our friends were drowning–not because they couldn’t bounce back from burnout, but because they couldn’t stop it in the first place.
That’s when we knew something had to change.

Haiku House is a private and exclusive nine-bedroom luxury vacation rental in Hawaii, located on 20 lush acres of paradise on Maui’s North Shore. The house is enveloped in a rich Hawaiian botanical history, with naturally aged beauty marks that remind us of the power of mother nature and the peacefulness we can feel in her arms.
The paths around the property take you to grand views of majestic trees, vast open fields and peaceful nooks under an arboreal canopy. Whether you are taking a walk around the grounds, reveling in the roots of the Moreton figs, relaxing with a refreshment by the pool, sipping coffee on the lanai, or gathering fruits and vegetables from the garden, there is a feeling of privacy that offers an overwhelming sense of serenity.
Haiku House is located in the North Shore community of Haiku – just past the town of Paia and the world famous surfing and windsurfing beach, Ho’okipa. The North Shore of Maui is a special place, with a strong sense of adventure, an active community and a great respect for the land.
